- 1.5 servings instant ramen noodles
- 1/4 large green onion, thinly sliced
- 1/4 medium onion, thinly sliced
- 1 slice of processed cheese
- 1 handful of aged kimchi, chopped into bite-sized pieces
- Assorted processed meats (e.g., Spam, sausage), sliced
- 1 Tbsp baked beans
Seasoning
- 1 Tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 Tbsp red pepper flakes (gochugaru)
- 1/2 Tbsp minced garlic
- A pinch of black pepper
- 1 Tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 Tbsp red pepper flakes (gochugaru)
- 1/2 Tbsp minced garlic
- A pinch of black pepper
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
In a pot, combine the 500ml of pre-made beef bone broth and 100ml of water. Add the sliced assorted processed meats and bring to a boil. The meats will release their savory flavors into the broth.
Step 2
Once the broth is boiling, add the chopped aged kimchi and a pinch of black pepper. The kimchi adds a pleasant tanginess that balances the richness of the broth.
Step 3
As the broth continues to simmer, add the sliced onion and green onion. Stir in 1 Tbsp of baked beans for a touch of sweetness and 1 Tbsp of red pepper flakes for a gentle kick of heat.
Step 4
Let the stew simmer for a few minutes to allow the flavors to meld beautifully. Once the vegetables are tender and the broth is aromatic, stir in 1/2 Tbsp of minced garlic for a pungent depth of flavor.
Step 5
Gently lay the slice of processed cheese on top of the simmering stew. Stir it in slightly until it melts, creating a wonderfully creamy and rich texture in the broth.
Step 6
Finally, add 1.5 servings of instant ramen noodles to the pot. Cook according to the noodle package instructions, or until the noodles are ‘kkodul-kkodul’ (firm yet tender). Once the noodles are cooked to your liking, your delicious Budae Jjigae Ramen is ready to be enjoyed!
