Stew Ingredients- 1 pack soft tofu
- A handful of fresh clams
- 1 egg
Key Seasoning- 2 Tbsp multipurpose soft tofu stew seasoning base
- Some green onions
- 2 Tbsp multipurpose soft tofu stew seasoning base
- Some green onions
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Pour about 3/4 cup (approx. 150ml) of water into an earthenware pot (ttukbaegi). Using a ttukbaegi helps retain heat, making the stew cook more deliciously.
Step 2
Add 2 tablespoons of the pre-made multipurpose soft tofu stew seasoning base to the pot and dissolve it well with the water. Properly dissolving the seasoning ensures an even flavor throughout the broth.
Step 3
Add the thoroughly washed, fresh clams to the pot and bring to a boil over high heat. As the clams open, their refreshing flavor will infuse into the broth.
Step 4
Once the clams have opened and are somewhat cooked, gently add the soft tofu. Using the back of a spoon to break the soft tofu into large chunks as you add it will help preserve its tender texture.
Step 5
When the stew comes to a rolling boil again, taste it. If it’s too bland, add a little more of the seasoning base or a dash of soup soy sauce to adjust the saltiness. (This step may be omitted depending on the saltiness of your seasoning base).
Step 6
Finally, generously top with sliced green onions, crack in 1 fresh egg, and sprinkle with a pinch of black pepper. Your spicy and refreshing clam soft tofu stew is now complete! Enjoy your meal!
