  • 1 ear of cooked corn (kernels only)
  • 1/2 stalk of green onion, finely chopped

First, carefully cut the kernels off the cooked corn cob. You can do this by holding the cob upright and slicing downwards with a knife. Try to keep the kernels intact for the best texture.

Wash the green onion thoroughly and then finely chop both the white and green parts. The fresh aroma of the green onion will add a wonderful flavor to the braised corn.

In a wide pot or pan, combine the water (100ml), soy sauce (50ml), sugar (1 Tbsp), red pepper flakes (2 Tbsp), corn syrup (2 Tbsp), and toasted sesame seeds (1 Tbsp). Stir these ingredients together to create your braising sauce.

Add the prepared corn kernels to the sauce. Cook over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally, to ensure the corn is evenly coated and the sauce thickens. Continue to simmer until the sauce has reduced and coated the corn kernels beautifully.

Once the corn is well-braised and coated in the sauce, stir in the chopped green onions and sesame oil (1 Tbsp). Mix gently and then turn off the heat. Your delicious braised corn is ready! The flavor will deepen even more as it cools slightly.
