- Gochujang (Korean chili paste) 1/2 Tbsp
- Oyster sauce 1/2 Tbsp (Optional)
- Allulose 2 Tbsp (Can be substituted with sugar)
- Water 1 cup (based on soju cup)
- Ketchup 4 Tbsp
- Gochujang (Korean chili paste) 1/2 Tbsp
- Oyster sauce 1/2 Tbsp (Optional)
- Allulose 2 Tbsp (Can be substituted with sugar)
- Water 1 cup (based on soju cup)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare the vegetables. Cabbage and onion are the base, but feel free to add bell peppers, carrots, or other vegetables according to your preference.
Step 2
Cut the onion into approximately 2cm cubes.
Step 3
Cut the cabbage into similar sized cubes, about 3cm. After cutting, rinse them lightly under running water and drain well.
Step 4
It’s best to use sausages with a high pork content and low sodium. If your sausages are particularly salty, consider omitting the oyster sauce and adjusting the seasoning later.
Step 5
Make shallow cuts on the surface of the sausages; this helps them open up nicely when cooked and allows the sauce to penetrate better. If the sausages are very large, you can also cut them into bite-sized pieces.
Step 6
Blanch the prepared sausages in boiling water for about 3 minutes. This step helps to remove excess fat and reduce artificial additives.
Step 7
Now, let’s make the delicious sauce. Prepare ketchup, gochujang, oyster sauce (optional), and allulose (or sugar) for sweetness. Add 1 to 2 tablespoons of allulose to adjust the sweetness to your liking. You can omit the oyster sauce depending on the saltiness of your sausages or your preference.
Step 8
In a large bowl, combine all the sauce ingredients and whisk them together until smooth and well combined.
Step 9
Heat a little oil in a pan and stir-fry the chopped vegetables for about 2 minutes. Sauté until the vegetables are slightly softened.
Step 10
Add the blanched sausages to the pan and stir-fry them briefly with the vegetables.
Step 11
Pour the prepared sauce and 1 cup of water (using a soju cup as a measure) into the pan.
Step 12
Reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for about 3 to 5 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent the sauce from burning. ★It’s important to stir-fry for at least 3 minutes to mellow out the sometimes-harsh taste of gochujang and develop a richer flavor. If the sauce becomes too thick and starts to burn, add a little more water to adjust the consistency.
