Main Ingredients
- 100g Beef (ground or finely chopped)
- 1 stalk Green Onion, white part (about 20cm long)
- 4 cloves Garlic, minced
- 5 Tbsp Olive Oil
- 2 Tbsp Gochujang (Korean chili paste)
- 2 Tbsp Sugar
- 1 Tbsp Soy Sauce
- 1 tsp Sesame Oil
- 1 Tbsp Toasted Sesame Seeds
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare your ingredients. Mince 4 cloves of garlic and finely chop the white part of 1 green onion stalk (about 20cm). Heat 5 tablespoons of olive oil in a pan over medium heat, ensuring there’s enough oil to sauté the ingredients well.
Step 2
Add 100g of beef to the pan and stir-fry. Break up any clumps of meat as you cook. Once the beef is partially cooked, add the chopped green onion and minced garlic, and stir-fry until fragrant. (Optional: For extra flavor, lightly season the beef with a pinch of salt and pepper at this stage.)
Step 3
When the meat is cooked and the aroma of green onion and garlic is released, add the seasonings. Stir in 2 tablespoons of gochujang, 2 tablespoons of sugar, and 1 tablespoon of soy sauce. Mix well and continue to cook over medium-low heat to allow the flavors to meld with the beef.
Step 4
Finally, add 1 tablespoon of toasted sesame seeds for a nutty flavor and 1 teaspoon of sesame oil to enhance the aroma. A great tip for a richer texture is to cook it down slightly over residual heat until it thickens and becomes more concentrated. Enjoy your delicious stir-fried gochujang!
