Main Ingredients- 300g fish cakes (eomuk)
- 4cm piece of green onion
- 1/4 onion
Seasoning & Others- 1/2 Tbsp minced garlic
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1 tsp sesame seeds
- 1 Tbsp gochugaru (Korean chili powder)
- 1.5 Tbsp soy sauce
- 1.5 Tbsp corn syrup or rice syrup (jocheong)
- 1/2 Tbsp sugar
- Pinch of black pepper
- 4 Tbsp water
- 1/2 Tbsp minced garlic
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1 tsp sesame seeds
- 1 Tbsp gochugaru (Korean chili powder)
- 1.5 Tbsp soy sauce
- 1.5 Tbsp corn syrup or rice syrup (jocheong)
- 1/2 Tbsp sugar
- Pinch of black pepper
- 4 Tbsp water
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, peel and thinly slice the onion into strips. Cut the green onion into 4cm lengths, then halve them lengthwise and chop coarsely, or simply chop them finely. Slice the fish cakes into bite-sized pieces.
Step 2
In a medium bowl, combine all the seasoning ingredients: gochugaru, soy sauce, corn syrup, sugar, minced garlic, black pepper, and water. Mix them well until thoroughly combined and no lumps remain.
Step 3
Heat a frying pan over medium heat. Pour the mixed sauce into the hot pan and bring it to a simmer. Once the sauce starts bubbling, add the sliced fish cakes and onion. Stir-fry for about 5 minutes, allowing the fish cakes to absorb the sauce and soften.
Step 4
Finally, add the chopped green onion, sesame seeds, and sesame oil. Give everything a quick stir to combine. Turn off the heat; the residual heat will continue to cook the dish, making it even more delicious.
