Main Ingredients

  • 300g frozen thinly sliced pork belly
  • 50g shredded green onion

Seasoning Ingredients

  • 1 Tbsp oyster sauce
  • 2 Tbsp spicy galbi (rib) sauce (store-bought)
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 Tbsp minced garlic
  • 1 tsp dried parsley flakes
  • A pinch of black pepper powder
  • 1 Tbsp toasted sesame seeds

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

Take the frozen thinly sliced pork belly out of the freezer and let it thaw naturally at room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking. This will help the meat cook up tender and absorb the sauce beautifully.

Step 1

Step 2

Wash the green onions thoroughly, then thinly shred them. For easier eating, you can cut the shredded green onions into 2-3 cm lengths with scissors.

Step 2

Step 3

Place the thawed thinly sliced pork belly into a deep wok or frying pan. Add the oyster sauce, minced garlic, dried parsley flakes, and black pepper powder. Gently loosen the ingredients with a spatula to prevent clumping.

Step 3

Step 4

Add the 2 tablespoons of store-bought spicy galbi sauce and 1 teaspoon of sugar. Stir-fry over high heat for about 5-7 minutes, stirring continuously. Since the pork belly slices are very thin, they cook quickly; overcooking can make them tough. Taste and adjust the sweetness and spiciness by adding more sauce or sugar according to your preference.

Step 4

Step 5

Add the shredded green onions and toasted sesame seeds. Continue to stir-fry for another minute until the dish is complete. Stir-fry the green onions just enough to keep them crisp.

Step 5

Step 6

Tip: When stir-frying thinly sliced pork belly, using chopsticks makes it easier to separate the slices and cook them evenly. After cooking, tilt the pan and use chopsticks to lift the meat onto a plate. This allows much of the rendered fat to drain away, making the dish less greasy. For added flavor and texture, you can also stir-fry with perilla leaves, onions, or mushrooms according to your preference.
