Main Ingredients- 1 can of canned tuna (drained)
- 1/2 onion (small)
- 1 stalk of green onion
- A little sesame oil
- A little black sesame seeds
- 2 Tbsp dried seaweed flakes
- 1 serving of udon noodles
Seasoning Ingredients- 2 Tbsp red pepper flakes
- 1 Tbsp fish sauce (like Canari)
- 1 Tbsp soy sauce
- 7 Tbsp chili oil
- 2 Tbsp red pepper flakes
- 1 Tbsp fish sauce (like Canari)
- 1 Tbsp soy sauce
- 7 Tbsp chili oil
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, wash and peel the onion, then mince it finely. Using minced onion will enhance the texture and flavor when mixed with the sauce.
Step 2
Bring a generous amount of water to a boil in a large pot. Once boiling, add the udon noodles and cook for about 30 seconds longer than the package instructions (usually 1-2 minutes). After cooking, drain immediately and rinse under cold water to maintain the chewy texture of the noodles. Drain thoroughly in a colander.
Step 3
Heat a pan over medium-low heat without adding oil. Add the drained canned tuna and the finely minced onion. Stir-fry until the onion becomes translucent and soft.
Step 4
Once the tuna and onion are well stir-fried, add all the seasoning ingredients: red pepper flakes, fish sauce, soy sauce, and chili oil. Using a spatula or spoon, mix well to ensure the seasoning coats the tuna and onion evenly. Continue to stir-fry for 1-2 minutes, being careful not to burn the sauce by adjusting the heat.
Step 5
Sprinkle the prepared black sesame seeds and dried seaweed flakes over the cooked spicy tuna mixture. This adds a nutty aroma and makes the dish look more appetizing.
Step 6
Now, add the chewy udon noodles, rinsed in cold water, to the cooked spicy tuna mixture. Toss gently to coat the noodles evenly with the sauce. Stir-frying for about 1 minute will help the sauce permeate the noodles, making them even more delicious.
Step 7
Finally, drizzle with sesame oil for a beautiful presentation and an enhanced flavor. Mix everything lightly, and your spicy and sweet Tuna Bibim Udon is ready! For an extra touch, you can garnish with finely chopped green onions.
