Seasoning- 1 Tbsp Minced garlic
- 3 Tbsp Doenjang (Korean soybean paste)

- 3 Tbsp Corn syrup (or other liquid sweetener)
- 1 Tbsp Minced garlic
- 3 Tbsp Doenjang (Korean soybean paste)
- 10 Tbsp Water
- 3 Tbsp Corn syrup (or other liquid sweetener)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, wash the 10 Cheongyang peppers thoroughly, pat them dry, and then mince them as finely as possible. Since these are the star of the spicy flavor, putting effort into mincing them will enhance the taste.
Step 2
Wash and peel the 1/2 onion. Similar to the Cheongyang peppers, mince it very finely. The sweetness of the onion will gently balance the spiciness.
Step 3
Heat 2 tablespoons of cooking oil in a frying pan. Add the minced onion and Cheongyang peppers and sauté over medium-low heat. Continue stir-frying until the onion becomes translucent and the spicy aroma of the Cheongyang peppers rises, which will bring out their full flavor.
Step 4
Once the spicy aroma intensifies, add 1 tablespoon of minced garlic and 3 tablespoons of Doenjang. Reduce the heat to low and stir constantly to prevent burning. The savory depth of the Doenjang and the aroma of garlic will create a delicious base.
Step 5
Finally, add 10 tablespoons of water and 3 tablespoons of corn syrup. Continue to stir over low heat, simmering until the mixture thickens. The corn syrup adds sweetness and a glossy finish, helping all the ingredients meld together beautifully. Your delicious Cheongyang Pepper Doenjang Paste is now ready!
