Main Ingredients- 16 frozen shrimp (peeled and deveined)
- Generous amount of butter (approx. 2 tbsp)
- Pinch of black pepper
- 4 large tortillas
- 1.5 red bell peppers
- 1 handful of pickled radish (danmuji, approx. 50g)
- 1/2 can sweet corn (approx. 100g, drained)
- 4 large lettuce leaves
- Chili sauce, to taste (adjust to your preference)
Spicy Sauce Ingredients- 2 medium onions
- 2 handfuls of cabbage (approx. 100g)
- 1/2 yellow bell pepper
- 2 tbsp oyster sauce
- 6 tbsp ketchup
- 2 tbsp tonkatsu (pork cutlet) sauce
- 2 medium onions
- 2 handfuls of cabbage (approx. 100g)
- 1/2 yellow bell pepper
- 2 tbsp oyster sauce
- 6 tbsp ketchup
- 2 tbsp tonkatsu (pork cutlet) sauce
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, heat a pan over medium heat and add a generous amount of butter. Lightly season the frozen shrimp with black pepper, then place them in the hot pan and cook until golden brown. Once cooked, remove the tails from the shrimp. (The buttery flavor will enhance the shrimp’s taste!)
Step 2
Thinly julienne the red bell peppers and pickled radish. This step ensures your burrito filling is vibrant and offers a delightful crunch.
Step 3
Finely chop the onions, cabbage, and yellow bell pepper. In the same pan used for the shrimp, add the chopped vegetables along with the remaining butter. Sauté until the vegetables are slightly softened. Then, stir in 2 tbsp oyster sauce, 6 tbsp ketchup, and 2 tbsp tonkatsu sauce. Cook until everything is well combined, creating a delicious sauce base.
Step 4
Now, let’s prepare the tortillas to make them pliable. Lightly dampen each tortilla with water. Place them in a plastic bag and microwave for about 1 minute. This makes the tortillas flexible and easy to roll without tearing.
Step 5
Lay a piece of parchment paper flat. Place a softened tortilla on top. Add a large lettuce leaf, followed by a generous drizzle of chili sauce. (Feel free to adjust the amount of sauce to your liking.)
Step 6
It’s time to layer the fillings! Arrange the julienned pickled radish neatly on the left side of the tortilla. Place the red bell pepper strips in the center and the yellow bell pepper strips on the right side, creating a colorful arrangement.
Step 7
Evenly spread the sautéed vegetable mixture over the other ingredients. Add the drained canned corn. The sweetness of the corn will balance the overall flavors beautifully.
Step 8
Arrange the perfectly cooked shrimp on top of the fillings. Finish with another drizzle of chili sauce for an extra burst of flavor.
Step 9
Gently press down the fillings with the lettuce leaf to help hold them together. Fold the sides of the tortilla inwards, then tightly roll it up from the bottom. Ensure it’s rolled snugly to prevent the contents from spilling out.
Step 10
Your delicious Chili Shrimp Burrito is ready! Enjoy the wonderful combination of chewy tortilla, spicy-sweet chili shrimp, and crunchy fresh vegetables. (Next Recipe: Chewy and Savory Mandu Gratin Recipe → @6903582)
