Spicy Fish Cake Ramen
Delicious Ramen with Fish Cakes for a Flavorful Broth
A delightful combination of savory broth and chewy fish cakes! Here’s a simple and tasty recipe for fish cake ramen.
Key Ingredients- 1 packet of ramen (your favorite kind)
- 1-2 sheets of square or skewer fish cakes
- 1/2 chili pepper (e.g., Korean green chili or red chili), optional for added spice
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare the fish cakes you’ll be using for this dish. Both square fish cakes (often sold for soup) and skewer fish cakes work well. Cutting them into bite-sized pieces will make them easier to eat.
Step 2
Pour the water for the ramen into a pot and bring it to a boil. Once the water starts boiling, add the ramen soup base and a small amount of commercial fish cake soup base powder (if you have it). (You can omit the fish cake soup base and just use the ramen base if preferred).
Step 3
When the broth is boiling, add the prepared fish cakes first and let them cook. The fish cakes will release a subtle umami flavor, making the broth even more refreshing.
Step 4
If you enjoy a spicy kick, slice and add half a chili pepper at this stage. Using a Korean green chili pepper will add a wonderfully sharp and refreshing spiciness to the broth.
Step 5
Finally, add the ramen noodles and the vegetable mix packet. Cook according to the package instructions, usually for about 3-4 minutes, until the noodles are perfectly cooked. Enjoy your delicious fish cake ramen!
