Main Ingredients

  • 120g pre-cooked octopus
  • 1/4 onion (or to taste)
  • 1/4 carrot (or to taste)
  • 2 Korean green chili peppers (Cheongyang peppers)
  • A small amount of green onion
  • 2 eggs

Seasoning

  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, prepare the 120g of pre-cooked octopus. Finely chop it into bite-sized pieces and place it in a mixing bowl. Chopping it finely but still leaving some texture will enhance the chewy sensation.

Step 1

Step 2

Next, finely dice the onion, carrot, and green onion. Also, finely chop the 2 Korean green chili peppers, removing the seeds for a manageable level of spice. Dicing the vegetables adds richness to the texture and a beautiful appearance to the pancakes.

Step 2

Step 3

Add the chopped octopus and all the diced vegetables to the bowl. Crack in 2 fresh eggs. Season with a pinch of salt and black pepper according to your preference. Be mindful not to oversalt.

Step 3

Step 4

Using a spoon or spatula, mix all the ingredients thoroughly until well combined. The eggs act as a binder, so ensure they are fully incorporated with the other ingredients. If the batter seems too thin, you can add a little flour.

Step 4

Step 5

Heat a non-stick pan over medium-low heat and add a generous amount of cooking oil. Spoon about one tablespoon of the batter at a time onto the pan, shaping them into small, round pancakes. Avoid overcrowding the pan to make flipping easier.

Step 5

Step 6

Cook each side for about 2-3 minutes until golden brown and crispy. Flip them carefully to ensure even cooking. Once both sides are perfectly browned and the inside is cooked through, your delicious octopus pancakes are ready! Serve them warm on a plate for a satisfying meal or a wonderful accompaniment to drinks.
