Spicy Pork Bulgogi Rice Balls
Quick & Delicious Rice Balls Using Leftover Spicy Pork Bulgogi (Baek Jong-won’s Recipe) ♩
I recently made these delicious rice balls using the leftover Spicy Pork Bulgogi I shared a while back. It’s a fantastic way to repurpose delicious side dishes!
Main Ingredients- Leftover Spicy Pork Bulgogi (Baek Jong-won’s recipe)
- Warm cooked rice
- Seaweed (roasted or seasoned)
- Sesame oil
- Toasted sesame seeds
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare the leftover Spicy Pork Bulgogi you have. If it’s cold or has been refrigerated, gently warm it up in a pan. This step helps to soften the meat, making it even more delicious in the rice balls.
Step 2
Once the bulgogi is warm, it’s time to chop it into small, bite-sized pieces. Finely mince the pork using chopsticks or a knife. This will ensure a pleasant texture and even distribution of the flavorful meat throughout the rice.
Step 3
Now, get a bowl ready for making the rice balls. Add a generous amount of warm, freshly cooked rice. Drizzle in a moderate amount of sesame oil for a nutty aroma and rich flavor. You can adjust the amount of sesame oil, especially if making these for children. Sprinkle in some toasted sesame seeds as well.
Step 4
Next, we’ll add seaweed to enhance the flavor of the rice balls. Crumble the seaweed by hand or finely snip it with scissors and add it to the bowl. Then, add the finely minced spicy pork bulgogi you prepared earlier.
Step 5
It’s time to mix everything together beautifully! Using a spatula or your hands, gently mix the ingredients, being careful not to mash the rice grains. Ensure all the components are evenly distributed. The bulgogi sauce will blend into the rice, creating an appetizing color.
Step 6
Finally, shape the mixture into round, bite-sized rice balls. Aim for a size that’s easy to eat, perfect for kids’ snacks or a light meal. Ideally, you’d coat the outside with more crumbled seaweed for an extra layer of flavor and visual appeal, but unfortunately, I ran out of seaweed after adding it to the mix, so I finished them like this. Nevertheless, the bulgogi itself was so delicious that these rice balls turned out incredibly successful and tasty! They’re also a great option for kids’ lunchboxes.
