Key Ingredients

  • 3 Tbsp Saeujeot (fermented salted shrimp)
  • 1 Cheongyang pepper (Korean chili pepper)
  • A small amount of green onion (white part)
  • 1/2 Tbsp minced garlic
  • 1/2 Tbsp red chili flakes (gochugaru)
  • 3 Tbsp water

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

Begin by placing 3 tablespoons of Saeujeot (fermented salted shrimp) into a mixing bowl. Make sure to drain any excess liquid from the shrimp. Finely chop 1 Cheongyang pepper and add it to the bowl. If you prefer a spicier kick, feel free to use two peppers. Mince a small amount of the white part of a green onion and add it to the bowl for added aroma and flavor.

Step 2

Next, add the remaining ingredients: 1/2 tablespoon of minced garlic, 1/2 tablespoon of red chili flakes (gochugaru), 3 tablespoons of water, and 1 teaspoon of sugar for a touch of sweetness. Thoroughly mix all the ingredients together using a spoon or spatula until well combined and the seasoning has a uniform consistency.
