Spicy & Sweet Gochujang Fried with Pine Nuts
#Savory Paste Stir-fry: Delicious Gochujang and Pine Nut Stir-fry Recipe
A delightful Gochujang stir-fry made with ground meat and a flavorful Gochujang-pine nut paste. This dish offers a perfect balance of savory, sweet, and spicy flavors.
Main Ingredients
- 3 Tbsp Gochujang (Korean chili paste)
- 100g Ground meat
- 2 Tbsp Pine nuts
- 1 Tbsp Sesame oil
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare all your ingredients. Having your gochujang, ground meat, pine nuts, sesame oil, corn syrup, and sugar measured out and ready will make the cooking process much smoother. Gently rinse the pine nuts.
Step 2
In a pan, add the ground meat and stir-fry over medium heat. Break up any clumps and cook until the meat is no longer pink and has turned a light brown color. Once the meat is cooked, add the gochujang and sesame oil, stirring to combine them well with the meat.
Step 3
After stir-frying the meat with gochujang and sesame oil, add the corn syrup. Corn syrup will add a glossy sheen and a subtle sweetness, enhancing the overall flavor of the dish. Continue to cook for a short while after adding the corn syrup, allowing it to meld with the meat.
Step 4
Next, add the sugar to adjust the sweetness to your liking. Feel free to increase or decrease the amount of sugar, or even omit it if you prefer. Stir gently to incorporate the sugar into the mixture, being careful not to let it burn.
Step 5
Now, add the prepared pine nuts. The stir-fry base is nearly complete at this stage. Sprinkle the pine nuts evenly over the cooking mixture.
Step 6
Finally, after adding the pine nuts, stir-fry everything together for a short while until well combined. Be mindful of the heat to prevent the pine nuts from burning, and gently stir to ensure the sauce evenly coats all the ingredients. Cook for about 1 minute more, allowing the nutty flavor of the pine nuts to harmonize with the sauce.
Step 7
Your delicious ‘Gochujang Fried with Pine Nuts’ is ready! It’s perfectly sweet, spicy, and nutty. It makes an excellent topping for a bowl of warm rice, truly a ‘rice thief’! Enjoy it as a side dish or a flavorful accompaniment to your meals.
