  • 2 packs of cleaned mackerel (approx. 4 pieces)

Spicy & Sweet Gochujang Sauce

  • 1 Tbsp Gochujang (Korean chili paste)
  • 2 Tbsp Oligodang (corn syrup) or rice syrup
  • 1 Tbsp sesame oil
  • A pinch of sesame seeds
  • 1/2 Tbsp minced garlic
  • 1/4 onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 green onion, finely chopped (for garnish)

Cooking Instructions

Pat the cleaned mackerel dry with paper towels. Lightly grease a preheated pan with cooking oil. Place the mackerel skin-side down and grill over medium heat until golden brown and crispy. Flip and cook the other side until evenly browned.

Let’s prepare the flavorful Gochujang sauce. In a bowl, combine 1 Tbsp Gochujang, 2 Tbsp Oligodang (or rice syrup), 1 Tbsp sesame oil, and 1/2 Tbsp minced garlic. Mix well until smooth. Thinly slice the onion and finely chop the green onion for garnish.
