Spicy & Sweet Stir-fried Sundae Recipe
The Best Korean Snack/Appetizer! Delicious Stir-fried Sundae That Rivals Shinlim-dong Sundae Town
Hello everyone! Today, I’m sharing a recipe for a spicy and sweet stir-fried sundae (Korean blood sausage) that both kids and adults will love. I was worried about the perilla leaves wilting, so I made this dish on a whim, and I was surprised by the enthusiastic reactions! Even my kids, who usually don’t eat much sundae, absolutely devoured this. They even asked for fried rice afterward, and cleared the plates clean! The whole garlic cloves, which are included in the recipe, add a wonderful texture and flavor when eaten with the sundae. Were you hesitant to make stir-fried sundae because it seemed complicated? Don’t worry! It’s much simpler than you might think, and it’s not only generous but also budget-friendly, making it perfect as a drinking snack or a hearty meal. Enjoy this delicious and satisfying stir-fried sundae for a great price! I hope your weekend is even more delicious~♡

- Sesame Oil (for a fragrant finish)
- 1 Tbsp Oyster Sauce
- 1 Tbsp Soy Sauce
- 2 Tbsp Gochugaru (Korean chili flakes, adjust to taste)
- 2 Tbsp Honey (adjust sweetness)
- 1 Tbsp Cheongju (rice wine, to remove sundae’s odor)
- 1 tsp Minced Garlic
- 1 Tbsp Curry Powder (for extra flavor!)
- 1 Tbsp Olive Oil (or cooking oil)
- Ground Perilla Seeds (sprinkle to taste)
- Sesame Oil (for a fragrant finish)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, boil the sundae in water for about 5-7 minutes until cooked through. Then, cut it into bite-sized pieces. Be careful not to overcook, or it might become mushy.
Step 2
Thinly slice the onion. Wash the perilla leaves and cut them into long, thin strips. Finely chop the Cheongyang peppers. Trim the base of the enoki mushrooms and separate them into strands. Slice the green onions diagonally. You can also slice the whole garlic cloves thinly or leave them whole.
Step 3
In a bowl, combine 1 Tbsp oyster sauce, 1 Tbsp soy sauce, 2 Tbsp gochugaru, 2 Tbsp honey, 1 Tbsp Cheongju, 1 tsp minced garlic, and 1 Tbsp curry powder. Mix well to create a delicious seasoning sauce. This sauce is the key to a flavorful stir-fried sundae!
Step 4
Heat 1 Tbsp olive oil in a pan over medium-low heat. Add the sliced onion, whole garlic cloves, and chopped Cheongyang peppers. Sauté until fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic.
Step 5
Once the onion becomes translucent and the garlic aroma fills the air, add the sliced sundae, perilla leaves, enoki mushrooms, and green onions. Pour in all of the prepared seasoning sauce. Stir-fry over high heat quickly, ensuring the perilla leaves and mushrooms wilt and the sundae is evenly coated with the sauce.
Step 6
When all ingredients are well combined, turn off the heat. Sprinkle with ground perilla seeds and a drizzle of sesame oil to finish, according to your preference. Serve the delicious stir-fried sundae hot and enjoy immediately!
