Dressing Ingredients- 3 Tbsp Gochujang (Korean chili paste)
- 1 Tbsp Gochugaru (Korean chili flakes)
- 1/2 Tbsp Minced Garlic
- 1 Tbsp Soy Sauce
- 1 Tbsp Vinegar
- 1/2 Tbsp Sesame Oil
- 1 Tbsp Granulated Sugar (or regular sugar)
- 1 Tbsp Toasted Sesame Seeds
- 3 Tbsp Gochujang (Korean chili paste)
- 1 Tbsp Gochugaru (Korean chili flakes)
- 1/2 Tbsp Minced Garlic
- 1 Tbsp Soy Sauce
- 1 Tbsp Vinegar
- 1/2 Tbsp Sesame Oil
- 1 Tbsp Granulated Sugar (or regular sugar)
- 1 Tbsp Toasted Sesame Seeds
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Prepare your fresh ingredients. Thoroughly wash the stone crop under running water to remove any dirt or debris, then drain it very well. If the stems are too long or tough, you can trim them to a more manageable size. Thinly slice the onion into slivers. Slicing them thinly will ensure a pleasant texture without being overpowering.
Step 2
Let’s make the flavorful dressing! In a mixing bowl, combine 3 tablespoons of gochujang, 1 tablespoon of gochugaru, 1/2 tablespoon of minced garlic, 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, 1 tablespoon of vinegar, and 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar. Whisk everything together until well combined. Finally, stir in 1/2 tablespoon of sesame oil and 1 tablespoon of toasted sesame seeds for a nutty aroma. For an even deeper flavor, you can prepare the dressing ahead of time and let it rest for a bit.
Step 3
Add the thinly sliced onions to the prepared dressing first. Gently toss the onions to coat them evenly. Marinating the onions first helps to soften them slightly and enhance their natural sweetness, allowing them to absorb the dressing beautifully.
Step 4
Now, carefully add the drained stone crop to the bowl with the dressed onions. Gently mix everything together. Be gentle while tossing to avoid bruising the delicate stone crop. The goal is to lightly coat the leaves and stems with the dressing without mashing them.
Step 5
Your delicious and vibrant Spicy & Tangy Stone Crop Salad with Onions is ready! Transfer the salad to a serving dish. Its refreshing taste, with a delightful balance of spicy, sour, and sweet notes, makes it a perfect accompaniment to rice or a great snack on its own. Enjoy this taste of spring!
