Cooking Instructions

Step 1

Let’s introduce you to our special dish: Steak Rice Pot.

Step 1

Step 2

First, prepare the rice. Rinse 4 rice cups of rice and soak it in water for 10 minutes. Place the soaked rice in your rice cooker with water (slightly less than you’d normally use for this amount of rice) and start cooking. Select ‘Cook’ or ‘White Rice’ mode.

Step 2

Step 3

Now, let’s prepare the star of the dish: the beef. Lightly season the 200g sirloin steak with salt. Heat a frying pan over medium-high heat and add a generous amount of olive oil. Add a knob of butter for extra flavor. Sear the seasoned steak on both sides until golden brown and cooked to your desired doneness, ensuring the juices are locked inside.

Step 3

Step 4

Prepare the whole garlic cloves. You can leave them unpeeled or slice them thinly. Add more olive oil to the same frying pan used for the steak, if needed. Add the garlic cloves and pan-fry until golden brown and fragrant. This adds a wonderful sweetness and aroma.

Step 4

Step 5

Once the steak is cooked, remove it from the pan and let it rest for a few minutes. Cut the steak into bite-sized pieces (about 1-1.5cm thick). When the rice is almost done and in its steaming phase, arrange the sliced steak on top of the rice. The juices from the steak will seep into the rice, enhancing its flavor.

Step 5

Step 6

Finally, top the rice with the chopped scallions and the pan-fried garlic. Cover the pot and let it steam for another 5 minutes. This allows the fresh scallion and aromatic garlic flavors to meld beautifully with the rice and steak.

Step 6

Step 7

Voilà! Your delicious Steak Rice Pot is ready. Enjoy this wonderful meal where tender steak, perfectly cooked rice, and savory garlic come together in perfect harmony. You can also serve it with your favorite dipping sauce.
