Steamed Beef, Shrimp, and Vegetables in a Multi-Cooker
Easy Beef, Shrimp, and Vegetable Steamed Dish using a Multi-Cooker
Enjoy a healthy and delicious steamed dish featuring tender beef, succulent shrimp, and crisp vegetables, all made effortlessly in your multi-cooker. This recipe is perfect for busy days, packed with nutritious ingredients that the whole family will love. The vegetables shrink down considerably once cooked, so don’t be afraid to pile them high!
Main Ingredients- Thinly sliced beef for shabu-shabu (frozen)
- Peeled and deveined shrimp
- Bean sprouts
- Your favorite vegetables (e.g., bok choy, mushrooms)
Sauce- 1 Tbsp soy sauce
- 1 Tbsp vinegar
- 1 Tbsp sugar
- 1 Tbsp minced spicy green chili (optional, for heat)
- 1 Tbsp soy sauce
- 1 Tbsp vinegar
- 1 Tbsp sugar
- 1 Tbsp minced spicy green chili (optional, for heat)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Start by preparing your thinly sliced beef, preferably a cut like chuck eye roll, which can be used directly from frozen. For the base of your steamed dish, generously layer a generous amount of crisp bean sprouts at the bottom of your multi-cooker pot.
Step 2
Next, arrange the prepared shrimp over the bed of bean sprouts, ensuring they are layered evenly. The shrimp will add a wonderful sweetness and texture as they cook.
Step 3
Now, carefully arrange the beef slices on top of the shrimp and bean sprouts. (Tip: A 26cm diameter steamer is generously sized for a family of 3-4). Since the vegetables will wilt significantly during steaming, it’s best to pack them in generously, even if they seem to mound above the rim of the pot.
Step 4
When packed this full, the lid might not close completely at first. However, as the vegetables cook and shrink, the contents will settle, and the lid should close securely. It’s a satisfying part of the steaming process!
Step 5
Once your multi-cooker begins to heat up, the magic of steaming will begin. You’ll soon see steam rising, signaling a delicious meal is on its way.
Step 6
Steam for approximately 20 minutes, or until the beef is tender and the shrimp are cooked through and pink. Steamed dishes are best enjoyed immediately while piping hot!
Step 7
While the steaming is in progress, you can prepare some side dishes to complement your meal. Serve the steamed dish directly from the multi-cooker (keeping the lid on to maintain warmth) for a delightful and cozy dining experience.
