Isn’t it natural to crave delicious food? Well, we have a dish that’s not only easy to make and visually appealing, perfect for entertaining guests, but also incredibly healthy! It’s the ‘Steamed Duck Breast with Bean Sprouts and Vegetables.’ With no complicated steps, it’s an excellent choice even for beginner cooks! Give it a try!
Main Ingredients- 400g duck breast
- 300g bean sprouts
- 1 pack oyster mushrooms
- 1 bunch chives
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, thoroughly rinse the bean sprouts under running water several times and drain them. For the oyster mushrooms, remove the tough ends and separate them into individual strands.
Step 2
It’s best to detach the caps of the oyster mushrooms or tear them into long strips. This preparation will result in a more tender texture when cooked.
Step 3
To steam, place a steamer basket in the bottom of a large pot. Spread the 300g of rinsed bean sprouts evenly over the steamer. Then, arrange half of the prepared oyster mushrooms attractively on top.
Step 4
Next, arrange the 400g of duck breast over the oyster mushrooms, ensuring it’s not overlapping. I’ve used smoked duck breast for its flavor, but you can also use raw duck breast, seasoned as desired.
Step 5
Wash the bunch of chives, cut them into manageable lengths (about 5-7cm), and arrange them attractively over the duck breast. Cover the pot with a lid, bring to a boil over high heat, and steam for about 7 minutes once the steam starts rising. (This timing is for smoked duck breast; adjust cooking time for raw duck breast). While the vegetables and duck are steaming, let’s prepare the wrap vegetables and sauce.
Step 6
Wash the perilla leaves individually, pat them dry, and arrange them neatly on a plate. Place one pickled radish wrap on top of each perilla leaf. Repeat this process to prepare the wrap vegetables.
Step 7
This way, you’ll have an appetizing set of wrap vegetables ready. It looks abundant and appealing, making your dining table more festive.
Step 8
Now, let’s make the mustard sauce, which pairs wonderfully with the steamed duck breast and vegetables. In a bowl, combine 2 Tbsp mustard, 2 Tbsp water, 2 Tbsp honey, 1 Tbsp soy sauce, and 1 Tbsp vinegar. Mix well until smooth. Feel free to adjust the amount of mustard, sweetness, or tanginess to your preference.
Step 9
Once the wrap vegetables and delicious mustard sauce are ready, your steaming hot duck breast, bean sprouts, and vegetable ‘jjim’ will be perfectly cooked. The freshness of the vegetables and the tenderness of the duck create a healthy and delightful flavor.
Step 10
You can enjoy the steamed dish directly from the pot, but for a cleaner presentation, transfer it to individual plates. This makes it more elegant and easier to eat. Enjoy with the wrap vegetables and mustard sauce!
