Cooking Instructions
Step 1
[Stir-fried Bok Choy with Beef] First, prepare the ingredients for the stir-fried bok choy and beef. Thinly slice the garlic and cut the green onion into long strips, about 3-4cm in length.
Step 2
Cut the beef into bite-sized pieces and place them in a bowl. Season with a pinch of salt and pepper. This will enhance the beef’s flavor.
Step 3
Add 1 tablespoon of cornstarch to the marinated beef and mix well. Coating the beef with cornstarch will make it more tender and help it absorb the sauce better.
Step 4
Heat a pan over medium heat, add a little cooking oil, and stir-fry the sliced garlic and green onions until fragrant. It’s important to let the aromatic flavors of the garlic and green onions infuse into the oil.
Step 5
Once the garlic is fragrant, add the cornstarch-coated beef and stir-fry until the surface turns white. Make sure to break up the beef as you stir-fry to prevent it from clumping.
Step 6
When the beef is mostly cooked, add the washed bok choy and stir-fry together. Once the bok choy begins to wilt slightly, add 1.5 tablespoons of oyster sauce and stir-fry quickly to season.
Step 7
When the bok choy is tender-crisp, turn off the heat and drizzle with 1/3 tablespoon of sesame oil for added aroma. Your delicious stir-fried bok choy with beef is now ready.
Step 8
[Spicy Pork Stir-fry] Now, let’s make the spicy pork stir-fry. Slice the onion into thick strips, cut the green onion diagonally, and thinly slice the Cheongyang chili pepper.
Step 9
Cut the pork belly into bite-sized pieces (about 3-4cm). Place in a bowl, add 1 tablespoon of minced garlic, a pinch of salt, and a pinch of pepper. Mix well to marinate.
Step 10
Heat a pan over medium heat, add a little cooking oil, and stir-fry about half of the sliced green onions until fragrant. This creates ‘green onion oil,’ which deepens the flavor of the pork stir-fry.
Step 11
Once the green onion oil is ready, add the marinated pork belly and stir-fry until the surface is lightly browned. When the pork is partially cooked, add the sliced onions, remaining green onions, and sliced chili peppers, and stir-fry together.
Step 12
Finally, add all the seasoning ingredients for the spicy pork stir-fry (coarse gochugaru, fine gochugaru, sugar, soy sauce, pepper) and stir-fry until the seasoning is well combined and the dish is flavorful. It’s perfect as a side dish for rice or as a snack with drinks!
