Ingredients- 2 handfuls dried small shrimp (about 40g)
- 1 pack Korean green peppers (about 200g)
- 20 whole garlic cloves
Seasoning- 1 tsp Olive Oil
- 1 Tbsp Oyster Sauce
- 2 Tbsp Soy Sauce
- 1 tsp Sriracha Sauce (adjust to spice preference)
- 2 Tbsp Honey
- Chopped Green Onion (optional)
- Sesame Seeds
- Sesame Oil
- 1 tsp Olive Oil
- 1 Tbsp Oyster Sauce
- 2 Tbsp Soy Sauce
- 1 tsp Sriracha Sauce (adjust to spice preference)
- 2 Tbsp Honey
- Chopped Green Onion (optional)
- Sesame Seeds
- Sesame Oil
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, wash the Korean green peppers thoroughly, remove the stems, and if they are large, cut them in half. Peel the whole garlic cloves. If the dried shrimp have any dust or debris, sifting them through a sieve will make them cleaner to eat.
Step 2
Heat a wok or pan over medium-low heat, add olive oil, and then add the Korean green peppers and whole garlic cloves. Stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until the garlic becomes lightly golden and the peppers soften slightly, releasing their aroma.
Step 3
Now, add the dried small shrimp to the pan with the stir-fried green peppers and garlic. Continue to stir-fry for about 1 minute, being careful not to burn the shrimp. This will bring out the savory flavor of the shrimp.
Step 4
Reduce the heat to low and pour in the oyster sauce, soy sauce, Sriracha sauce, and honey (or corn syrup) in order over the ingredients. Quickly mix everything together. It’s important to stir-fry rapidly to prevent the seasonings from burning. Continue to stir-fry for another 1-2 minutes until the sauce is evenly coated.
Step 5
Finally, turn off the heat. Add the chopped green onion (if using), sesame seeds, and a drizzle of sesame oil. Give it a final gentle toss to combine. Transfer the finished stir-fried shrimp with Korean green peppers and garlic to a serving dish. This makes a delicious summer side dish that pairs wonderfully with hot rice!
