Ingredients

  • 1.5 Tbsp Butter
  • 15 Shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • A pinch of Parsley flakes
  • Sweet Chili Sauce (for serving)
  • Skewers, as needed

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

Peeling and deveining shrimp is easier than you might think! Similar to the Gambas al Ajillo preparation, locate the second segment from the head. Insert a skewer into the shrimp’s back and gently lift to extract the vein. Next, remove the head and shell. Finally, make a shallow cut along the belly side of the shrimp to remove the intestinal tract for a cleaner taste and texture.

Step 1

Step 2

Now, decide on the tail. I personally prefer the texture of shrimp with their tails on, but my husband likes them without. So, to be fair, I left the tails on about half of the shrimp and removed them from the other half. Feel free to adjust this to your preference – you can remove all tails or leave them all on!

Step 2

Step 3

Carefully thread the prepared shrimp onto the skewers, arranging them neatly. Skewering the shrimp helps them cook evenly and makes them much easier to handle and serve.

Step 3

Step 4

Take your 1.5 tablespoons of butter from the refrigerator. Place it in a microwave-safe bowl and heat for about 30 seconds, or until just melted. Gently melted butter is perfect for coating the shrimp evenly.

Step 4

Step 5

Brush the melted butter all over the skewered shrimp, ensuring each piece is well-coated. This step is crucial for infusing the shrimp with a rich, buttery flavor and keeping them wonderfully moist as they cook.

Step 5

Step 6

Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Arrange the butter-coated shrimp skewers on a baking sheet and bake for approximately 10 minutes. Cooking times may vary slightly depending on your oven, so keep an eye on the shrimp until they turn a lovely golden pink and are cooked through.

Step 6

Step 7

Voilà! Your delicious Butter Grilled Shrimp are ready. Fresh out of the oven, they’ll have a beautiful sheen and an irresistible buttery aroma. You can see how plump and perfectly cooked the shrimp are!

Step 7

Step 8

Finally, sprinkle some parsley flakes over the finished shrimp for a touch of color and fresh flavor. For an extra kick, serve with the sweet chili sauce on the side for dipping. This dish makes for an impressive and satisfying beer accompaniment!
