- 1 Packet Kimchi (approx. 80g)
- 1 String Cheese Stick
- 1 Egg
Seasoning Ingredients- 1 Tbsp Gochujang (Korean chili paste)
- 2 Tbsp Ketchup
- 1 Tbsp Sugar
- 1 Tbsp Soy Sauce (jin-ganjang)
- 1 Tbsp Gochujang (Korean chili paste)
- 2 Tbsp Ketchup
- 1 Tbsp Sugar
- 1 Tbsp Soy Sauce (jin-ganjang)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, in a small bowl, combine 1 Tbsp gochujang, 2 Tbsp ketchup, 1 Tbsp sugar, and 1 Tbsp soy sauce. Mix well with a spoon to create a delicious sauce. Making the sauce in advance will significantly shorten your cooking time.
Step 2
Prepare the egg by frying it in a pan with a little oil until golden brown. You can make it sunny-side up or over-easy, according to your preference. Aim for a nice shape as it will be placed on top of the rice.
Step 3
Take one bowl of instant rice (warmed if desired) and pour the prepared sauce over it. Mix thoroughly with a spoon until every grain of rice is coated with the sauce. It’s important to mix it well so the seasoning is evenly distributed.
Step 4
In a microwave-safe bowl, spread the seasoned rice evenly at the bottom. Next, add the sausage (or hot bar), cut into bite-sized pieces, generously on top of the rice. Then, add the kimchi, also cut into manageable pieces.
Step 5
Finally, tear the string cheese into pieces and place them over the rice, sausage, and kimchi. Microwave for 2 minutes until the cheese is melted and everything is nicely combined and heated through.
Step 6
Carefully place the pre-fried egg on top of the finished rice bowl after taking it out of the microwave. Your delicious sausage kimchi rice bowl is now complete! Enjoy it while it’s warm!
