Main Ingredients- Pork belly (whole or thinly sliced) 400g
- 1 Onion, thinly sliced
- 500g Cooked white rice (1-2 servings)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Heat a pan without oil and start by cooking the pork belly. Once the pork belly renders enough fat, add the thinly sliced onion and stir-fry together until the onion becomes translucent. For easier eating, cut the pork belly into bite-sized pieces.
Step 2
When the pork belly and onion are somewhat cooked, push the ingredients to one side of the pan. Add 2 tablespoons of gochugaru and stir-fry over medium-low heat to create chili oil. This greatly deepens the flavor of the sauce.
Step 3
Once the chili oil is fragrant, combine it with the pork belly and onion. Add 1.5 tablespoons of gochujang, 4 tablespoons of soy sauce, and 3 teaspoons of minced garlic. Stir-fry over high heat quickly to ensure the sauce evenly coats everything. Be careful not to let it burn!
Step 4
Finally, add 2 tablespoons of sugar and stir well while keeping the heat on to achieve a glossy finish, preventing the sauce from burning. You can adjust the sweetness to your preference.
Step 5
Prepare the base for your rice bowl by filling a bowl with warm cooked white rice. We will generously top this with the cooked pork belly mixture.
Step 6
Generously spoon the deliciously stir-fried pork belly mixture over the prepared rice. Carefully place 2 fresh egg yolks in the center. Breaking the yolks and mixing them with the rice and pork is incredibly delicious! If you like, you can also add seaweed flakes or chopped green onions for extra flavor. Enjoy your meal!
