Super Simple Microwave-Boiled Egg
Microwave in Just 9 Minutes! The Ultimate Hack for Perfectly Boiling a Single Egg
Ever needed just one egg for a garnish or found it inconvenient to boil a few when living alone? You no longer have to give up! Today, I’ll show you a super easy and perfect method to boil a single egg using only your microwave, without any pots or pans. It’s perfect for busy mornings or a quick snack!
Essential Ingredients
- Aluminum foil
- Mug (microwave-safe)
- 1 Egg
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare one egg. Tear off a piece of aluminum foil large enough to completely wrap the egg. Tightly wrap the egg with the foil, ensuring there are no gaps. This helps prevent cracking and ensures even cooking.
Step 2
Carefully place the foil-wrapped egg into a microwave-safe mug. Then, pour enough water to completely submerge the egg. **Important Safety Note:** Never put aluminum foil or metal objects directly into the microwave and operate it, as this can cause sparks and damage your appliance. Ensure the egg remains fully submerged to prevent the foil from being exposed to microwaves.
Step 3
If the egg continues to float, you can use a bit more aluminum foil. Create a longer piece of foil to act as a weight, securing the egg at the bottom of the mug. This will help keep it submerged. Fill the mug with plenty of water so the egg is well covered, but don’t overfill it to the point where it might spill during microwaving.
Step 4
Place the prepared mug in the microwave and cook for approximately 9 minutes. (Cooking time may vary slightly depending on your microwave’s wattage.) When the time is up, carefully remove the hot mug using oven mitts or kitchen gloves. You’ll notice that most of the water has evaporated, and the foil might have a slightly yellowish hue – signs of a successful cook!
Step 5
Now, let’s gently peel the egg. Did it cook perfectly? Absolutely! It’s cooked beautifully, and the shell peels off so easily. You now have a perfectly boiled egg with a glossy finish!
