Super Simple Microwave Jjapaghetti & Neoguri

Hello everyone! As I have a wheat allergy, I don’t often eat instant noodles. However, during the summer monsoon season, I do crave ramen and jjapaghetti. Today, I’ll be sharing an incredibly simple recipe to cook them in just 5 minutes using only a microwave, no stove needed! We’ll be using a microwave-safe ceramic container, making it safe and convenient for delicious results.

Microwave Neoguri

  • 1 pack Neoguri ramen
  • 1 egg
  • 500ml water

Microwave Jjapaghetti

  • 1 pack Jjapaghetti
  • 500ml water

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, prepare a microwave-safe ceramic container, like the ‘Healing Y 3-Minute Magic Cup.’ I love this container because it’s made of ceramic, ensuring it’s safe to use without worrying about microwave radiation.

Step 1

Step 2

Instead of using filtered water from a dispenser, fill an electric kettle with 500ml of water and bring it to a rolling boil. Using hot water helps the noodles cook thoroughly.

Step 2

Step 3

While the water is boiling, add the Neoguri ramen noodles, soup powder, and vegetable flakes into your prepared microwave-safe container.

Step 3

Step 4

Carefully pour the 500ml of boiling water into the container, ensuring the noodles are submerged.

Step 4

Step 5

We can’t forget the egg in our ramen! Crack one fresh egg directly into the container.

Step 5

Step 6

Gently whisk the egg with a fork, then pour a little more boiling water to help the egg cook evenly when microwaved.

Step 6

Step 7

Now, close the lid of the ramen container and place it in the microwave. Cook for about 5 minutes. (Adjust the cooking time based on your microwave’s wattage.)

Step 7

Step 8

While the ramen is cooking, take out some kimchi and set the table. This saves time later!

Step 8

Step 9

I personally like a bit of spice, so I added 1 tablespoon of red pepper flakes. Sprinkle some sesame seeds on top for a nutty finish. This transforms the Neoguri into something like a spicy sesame ramen! (A delicious variation!)

Step 9

Step 10

Now for the Jjapaghetti! For Jjapaghetti, you’ll need to gather three components: the powder sachet, the olive oil packet, and the vegetable flakes.

Step 10

Step 11

First, place the Jjapaghetti noodles and vegetable flakes into the microwave-safe container. Pour in 500ml of boiling water until the noodles are covered.

Step 11

Step 12

Close the container lid and microwave for about 5 minutes. Similar to Neoguri, the hot water steeping step is crucial for Jjapaghetti noodles to cook well.

Step 12

Step 13

After 5 minutes, check the noodles. They should be perfectly cooked and ready to eat.

Step 13

Step 14

Now, carefully drain about 90% of the water from the container, leaving just a little bit behind. Then, add the Jjapaghetti powder sachet. Be careful not to drain too much water, or the Jjapaghetti might turn out too bland.

Step 14

Step 15

Finally, add the Jjapaghetti’s special olive oil packet. Use chopsticks to mix everything thoroughly, ensuring the sauce coats every strand of noodle for a delicious finish!
