Essential Ingredients
  • 3 Sausages (approx. 75g)
  • 80g Pasta (Penne, Macaroni, or Spaghetti)
  • 50g Onion
  • 3 Tbsp Ketchup
  • 1 Tbsp Soy Sauce
  • 1 tsp Sugar
  • 1 tsp Butter
  • 1 Tbsp Olive Oil
  • 1 tsp Minced Garlic
  • 200g Water (boiling hot)
  • Pinch of Black Pepper
  • 1 tsp Chopped Green Onion (for garnish)
  • Italian herbs like basil (optional)

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, place 80g of pasta into the rice cooker. You can use short pasta like penne or macaroni, or if using long spaghetti, break it into manageable pieces before adding. Cut the 50g onion into thick slices or chunks.

Step 2

Slice the 3 sausages (approx. 75g) diagonally. Slicing them not too thinly will give a better texture when biting into them.

Step 3

Now it’s time to add the prepared ingredients to the rice cooker. Add the sliced sausages and onion, then measure and add the key flavor ingredients: 3 tablespoons of ketchup, 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, 1 teaspoon of sugar, 1 teaspoon of butter, and 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Finally, pour in 200g of boiling hot water. Using hot water is crucial for the pasta to cook properly.

Step 4

Once all ingredients are in, stir everything thoroughly with a spatula or spoon. Make sure to loosen any clumps of pasta so they don’t stick together. Close the rice cooker lid and select the ‘Steam’ or ‘Cook’ setting for 20 minutes. After cooking is complete, don’t open the lid immediately; let it rest for about 5 minutes before opening. This will help the pasta become even more tender.

Step 5

After taking the well-cooked pasta out of the rice cooker, stir it well again to ensure the remaining sauce is evenly coated on the pasta before serving. If the pasta seems undercooked or the sauce is too thick, you can cook it for an additional 1-2 minutes or add a little more water.

Step 6

Finally, it’s time to enhance the flavor! Generously sprinkle fresh black pepper. For an extra touch, you can add a pinch of Italian herbs like basil or oregano for a more sophisticated pasta. Top it off with some chopped green onion for a nice visual appeal and fresh aroma. Your delicious Neapolitan pasta is ready! Enjoy your meal!
