  • 300g Tteokbokki Rice Cakes
  • 1 Tbsp Soy Sauce
  • 1 tsp Canola Oil
  • 1 tsp Sesame Oil
  • 1 Tbsp Honey
  • A pinch of Black Sesame Seeds

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

Let’s start by making Jung Woong-in’s ‘Ung-tteok Ung-tteok’. Prepare 300g of tteokbokki rice cakes. Heat 1 tsp of canola oil in a pan over medium-low heat and add the rice cakes. Stir-fry them until they start to soften. Once they are a bit tender, add 1 Tbsp of soy sauce. Continue to cook, allowing the soy sauce to coat the rice cakes and reduce slightly.

Step 2

When the soy sauce has reduced to a nice glaze, add 1 tsp of sesame oil and 1 Tbsp of honey. Stir well and continue to cook until the rice cakes become glossy and chewy. Finish by sprinkling a pinch of black sesame seeds for added flavor and a lovely presentation. ‘Ung-tteok Ung-tteok’ is now ready! It’s a simple yet delicious late-night snack.

Step 3

Now, let’s make Yoon Je-moon’s ‘Strawberry Juice’. Get about 10 fresh strawberries and wash them thoroughly. Instead of blending them right away, place the washed strawberries in a bowl. Use a spoon to mash them until they break down into a chunky consistency. This method preserves some of the strawberry texture for a unique juice experience.

Step 3

Step 4

After mashing the strawberries with a spoon to a soft pulp, pour in 1.5 cups (approximately 300ml) of milk. Feel free to adjust the amount of milk to your preference for a thicker or thinner consistency.

Step 4

Step 5

Finally, add 1 Tbsp of sweetened condensed milk for a touch of sweetness. Stir everything together until well combined. Once the mashed strawberries, milk, and condensed milk are evenly mixed, your delicious strawberry juice is complete! It’s so simple and refreshing, kids will absolutely love it as a snack.
