Ingredients- 1/2 Kabocha squash (medium size)
- 200ml Water
- 100g Sugar (adjust to taste)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, thoroughly scoop out the seeds from the kabocha squash. Then, cut it into large, bite-sized pieces. You can leave the skin on.
Step 2
In a frying pan or pot with some depth, combine the sugar and water. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring until the sugar is completely dissolved.
Step 3
Once the syrup starts to boil, carefully add the prepared kabocha pieces. Arrange the squash with the skin side down, submerged in the syrup, to ensure even cooking. Reduce the heat to medium-low, cover with a lid, and braise for about 15-20 minutes, or until the kabocha is tender when pierced with a fork. Flip the pieces occasionally to allow them to absorb the glaze evenly for the best flavor.
