Main Ingredients- 200g Seaweed (Laver)
- 50g Apple
Seasoning- 2 Tbsp Vinegar
- 1/2 Tbsp Anchovy Sauce
- 1/2 Tbsp Sugar
- 2 Pinches Salt
- 2 Tbsp Vinegar
- 1/2 Tbsp Anchovy Sauce
- 1/2 Tbsp Sugar
- 2 Pinches Salt
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Place the seaweed in a bowl. Add 2 tablespoons of coarse salt and gently massage the seaweed between your palms. This step is crucial for softening the seaweed and removing any fishy odor or bitterness it might have.
Step 2
Rinse the salted seaweed thoroughly under cold running water, swishing it gently. Repeat this rinsing process about 3 times until the water runs clear. Drain the seaweed well in a colander, then lightly squeeze out any excess water with your hands. Finally, cut the seaweed into bite-sized pieces using scissors.
Step 3
Wash the apple, remove the core, and slice it into thin, matchstick-like strips approximately 4cm long. Aim for a thickness that provides a satisfying crunch.
Step 4
In the bowl with the prepared seaweed, add 1/2 tablespoon anchovy sauce, 2 tablespoons vinegar, 1/2 tablespoon sugar, and 1 pinch of salt. Gently mix everything together until the seasonings are evenly distributed throughout the seaweed.
Step 5
Add the julienned apple to the seasoned seaweed and toss lightly to combine. The addition of apple enhances the sweet and sour profile, making this a super simple and delicious seaweed salad that’s perfect even when you don’t have much of an appetite. Enjoy your delightful creation!
