Main Ingredients

Miso Dressing
  • 1 Tbsp Miso paste (homemade or store-bought is fine)
  • 1/2 Tbsp minced garlic (add a little more if you like a stronger garlic flavor)
  • 2/3 Tbsp sugar (adjust sweetness to your preference)
  • 1 Tbsp Mayonnaise (adds a creamy texture)
  • 1 Tbsp Sesame oil (for a nutty aroma)
  • Sesame seeds to taste (for garnish, adjust as desired)

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

Wash the bell peppers thoroughly under running water. Make a circular cut around the stem area with a knife, then gently twist to remove the stem and core. This method cleanly separates the seed pod, making it easy to remove.

Step 2

Cut the bell peppers into uniform lengths for a neat and appealing presentation when served. Aim for slices about 1 to 1.5 cm thick.

Step 3

Carefully scrape away any white pith and remaining seeds from the inside of the bell peppers. These parts can affect the texture and appearance if left in.

Step 4

Place the bell pepper cut-side up on a cutting board to prevent slipping and to make slicing easier and safer. Slice slowly, being mindful to avoid cutting your fingers.

Step 5

In a small bowl, combine all the miso dressing ingredients: 1 Tbsp miso paste, 1/2 Tbsp minced garlic, 2/3 Tbsp sugar, and 1 Tbsp mayonnaise. Whisk them together until smooth and well combined, ensuring there are no lumps.

Step 6

Add the prepared bell peppers to the bowl with the miso dressing. Gently toss and mix with your hands until the dressing is evenly coated. Finally, drizzle in 1 Tbsp of sesame oil and sprinkle with sesame seeds for a fragrant and delicious finishing touch. Your bell pepper salad with miso dressing is ready!
