Essential Ingredients- 2 slices of bread
- 2 Tbsp brown sugar
- ¼ banana (sliced into appropriate size)
- 1 scoop of vanilla ice cream
- Pinch of cinnamon powder (to taste)
- Drizzle of chocolate syrup (to taste)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare the banana that will add flavor to your dessert. Slice ¼ of a banana into bite-sized pieces, about 0.5 cm thick. Slicing them too thinly might cause them to break apart during cooking, so aim for a moderate thickness.
Step 2
Now, it’s time to create the base for your dessert using the bread. Take two slices of bread and evenly sprinkle 1 tablespoon of brown sugar onto one side of each slice. Arrange the sliced bananas attractively on top of the brown sugar. This will add a delightful sweetness.
Step 3
Let’s create a unique shape! Use a rice bowl to press down firmly around the edges of the bread, forming a round shape. When you press the crust with the rim of the bowl, the center will puff up, creating a lovely shape similar to hotteok or waffles after cooking.
Step 4
Heat a generous amount of grapeseed oil in a pan over medium-low heat. Place the prepared bread slices into the pan and cook for about 2-3 minutes per side, flipping them occasionally. The brown sugar will melt and caramelize, making the bread surface golden brown and crispy. Be mindful of the heat to prevent burning!
Step 5
Carefully transfer the beautifully cooked bread slices onto a serving plate. Place a scoop of cold vanilla ice cream on top of the warm bread. Finally, sprinkle cinnamon powder to your liking and drizzle chocolate syrup in a zigzag pattern for a perfectly delightful ‘Honana’ bread dessert! Enjoy the perfect harmony of warm and cold, and sweet flavors.
