Fondue Ingredients
  • Cherry Tomatoes: 12-16 pieces (choose fresh and firm ones)
  • Bananas: 1 large or 2 medium (slightly underripe ones work best)
  • Marshmallows: Plenty, to your liking
  • Chocolate: 200g (dark or milk, your preference)
  • Skewers or Forks: 4-6 (for piercing fruits and marshmallows)

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, break the chocolate into smaller pieces. This helps it melt more evenly and quickly. Aim for bite-sized pieces.

Step 2

Fill a saucepan with water and place a heatproof bowl containing the chopped chocolate over it. This is called a double boiler method. Gently stir the chocolate as it melts, ensuring it doesn’t come into direct contact with the heat. *Caution: The bowl and saucepan will be hot! Handle with care, using oven mitts or a kitchen towel.*

Step 3

While the chocolate is melting, prepare the bananas. Cut them into slightly larger than bite-sized pieces so they have a satisfying texture when dipped. Slightly firm bananas are ideal as they won’t get too mushy.

Step 4

Remove the stem from each cherry tomato. This makes them easier to eat and present nicely.

Step 5

Thread the prepared fruits and marshmallows onto your skewers or forks in any order you like. Letting children choose the order can add to the fun! (Tip: You can also skewer cookies or mochi for a different taste experience.)

Step 6

Dip the skewered fruits and marshmallows into the smoothly melted chocolate. Gently shake off any excess chocolate and arrange them neatly on a plate. Get creative and make your fondue a work of art!

Step 7

And voilà! Your delicious chocolate fondue is ready. The delightful combination of sweet chocolate and fresh fruits will bring joy to your palate. The occasional burst of tartness from the tomatoes keeps things refreshing, making it enjoyable until the very last bite. We hope you have a wonderful time making and enjoying this together as a family! 😊
