Ingredients
  • 4 ripe plums
  • 1.5 cups sugar (or 15 Tbsp)
  • 3 cups water

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, pour 3 cups of water into a pot and add a generous 1.5 cups of granulated sugar (approximately 15 tablespoons). This is about 1.5 cups using a standard paper cup.

Step 2

Bring the mixture to a boil over high heat, stirring until the sugar is completely dissolved. Ensure the sugar melts into a clear syrup without clumping.

Step 3

Wash the plums thoroughly under running water, remove the stems, and cut them into bite-sized pieces (e.g., quarters or sixths) with the skin on. Leaving the skin on will result in a richer flavor and texture.

Step 4

Once the sugar syrup is clear and dissolved, reduce the heat to low. Then, add the prepared plums to the pot and let them simmer gently over low heat.

Step 5
