Omelette Batter

  • 500g Hotcake mix
  • 2 Eggs
  • 270ml Milk

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, measure and prepare all the ingredients needed for the omelette. Wash the strawberries, pat them dry, remove the stems, and cut them in half.

Step 1

Step 2

In a bowl, lightly whisk 2 eggs. Then, add 270ml of milk and mix well until smooth, ensuring there are no lumps. Proper mixing of milk and eggs is key to a tender omelette.

Step 2

Step 3

Add the entire 500g bag of hotcake mix to the well-mixed egg and milk liquid. Using a spatula or whisk, gently combine until just mixed, ensuring no dry flour remains. Avoid overmixing; a slightly lumpy batter is ideal.

Step 3

Step 4

Lightly grease a frying pan with butter or oil and heat over low heat. Ladle some batter into the pan to create a thin, round shape, about 10-12cm in diameter. When small bubbles start to form on the surface, it’s time to flip. Maintaining low heat is crucial to prevent burning!

Step 4

Step 5

Flip the omelette and cook for another 1-2 minutes. Immediately transfer it to a wire rack to cool. Cooling on a rack helps prevent the omelette from becoming soggy and maintains its shape. Let it cool completely for about 10-15 minutes.

Step 5

Step 6

Once fully cooled, fold the omelette in half. Generously pipe whipped cream (whipping cream) onto the inside. Arrange half of the prepared strawberries on top to complete this sweet and lovely strawberry omelette! For extra flair, dust with powdered sugar.
