Create a Delicious Strawberry Jam Toast Brunch

As the children’s voices chatter outside with the windows open, I’m feeling the festive spirit of the approaching holiday season. ^^ While this recipe isn’t directly related to the holiday, I decided to make some strawberry jam toast today because I was craving it. It’s perfect for a delightful brunch!

Ingredients
  • 2 slices of bread
  • 1 egg
  • 1-2 slices of sandwich ham
  • 1 slice of cheddar cheese
  • Generous amount of strawberry jam
  • 1 tablespoon butter

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, crack one egg into a bowl. Whisk it gently with a fork or a whisk, breaking the egg white strands, until smooth. A well-beaten egg mixture ensures an even coating on the bread.

Step 2

Dip each slice of bread into the beaten egg mixture, soaking both sides. Let the bread absorb the egg for a moment; this will result in a wonderfully moist and tender toast.

Step 3

Melt 1 tablespoon of butter in a pan over medium heat. Once the butter is melted and fragrant, place the egg-coated bread slices into the pan and cook until golden brown. (Tip: If you get distracted, like I did while unboxing a package, be sure to watch for the scent of burning! Even if it’s slightly overcooked, it’s still delicious.)

Step 4

Once one side of the bread is nicely browned, place a slice of cheddar cheese on top, followed by the sandwich ham slices arranged neatly. You can fold the ham in half if desired.

Step 5

On the other slice of bread (the side that hasn’t been grilled yet), spread a generous layer of strawberry jam. The sweet and tangy jam will add a burst of flavor.

Step 6

Now, place the jam-spread slice on top of the slice with ham and cheese to form a sandwich. You can grill it for another minute or two in the pan to help the cheese melt. Cut into desired portions and enjoy while warm. Isn’t it incredibly simple?
