Main Ingredients- 1 Baguette
- 1 Apple (choose your favorite variety)
- A little Emmental cheese (sliced or small cubes)
- 1 Tbsp Yuzu jam
- 1 Tbsp Cream cheese

Step 1
Prepare the baguette. First, cut the baguette into three equal sections. Then, slice each section lengthwise in half to create space for the filling. This allows for a generous amount of ingredients.
Step 2
Before filling, lightly toasting the cut side of the baguette enhances the flavor. Place the baguette cut-side down in a dry pan (no oil needed) over low heat. Toast gently until lightly golden, being careful not to make the bread too hard. This brings out the bread’s aroma and prevents the sandwich from becoming soggy.
Step 3
Prepare the apples and cheese for the sandwich. Wash the apple thoroughly, remove the core, and slice it thinly so it fits nicely on the bread. Slice the Emmental cheese thinly, similar to the apple slices. Aim for slices that will cover the bread evenly.
Step 4
Now it’s time to assemble the sandwich. Spread a thin layer of soft cream cheese on the inside of one baguette half. For a zesty twist, you can mix the yuzu jam into the cream cheese before spreading (I used yuzu jam directly here for a bright flavor). Place the thinly sliced Emmental cheese evenly on top, followed by the apple slices.

While delicious with just cream cheese, mixing in yuzu jam creates a delightful combination. The subtle yuzu aroma fills your mouth, harmonizing beautifully with the bread, cheese, and apple. The sweetness and tanginess of the yuzu cut through any richness, making it wonderfully refreshing.

Place the other baguette half on top to complete the sandwich. Wrap the sandwich snugly with parchment paper or plastic wrap to keep it intact.
