Key Ingredients

  • 400g Chicken Drumsticks (approx. 2-3 pieces)
  • 1/2 Onion, sliced into 1cm thick rings
  • 1 Lime, cut into wedges
  • Fresh Coriander, a small bunch for garnish
  • 2 Tbsp Melted Butter (for cooking)

Marinade Ingredients

  • 2 cups Plain Yogurt (unsweetened)
  • 1 Tbsp Curry Powder
  • 1/2 Tbsp Cumin Powder
  • 1 Tbsp Minced Garlic
  • A little Ginger Juice (or grated ginger)
  • 4 Tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1/2 Tbsp Mild Red Pepper Flakes (adjust to taste)
  • A pinch of Black Pepper

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, slice the onion into thick rings, about 1cm in thickness. These will add a nice texture when cooked.

Step 1

Step 2

Carefully remove the skin from the chicken drumsticks. Make deep cuts along the bone side to spread the meat out. Then, use a fork to prick the chicken all over. This helps the marinade penetrate deeply for maximum flavor.

Step 2

Step 3

In a bowl, combine the plain yogurt, curry powder, cumin powder, minced garlic, ginger juice, Worcestershire sauce, red pepper flakes, and black pepper. Mix well until you have a smooth marinade. Generously coat the chicken drumsticks with the marinade, ensuring every piece is covered. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or ideally overnight, for the best flavor infusion.

Step 3

Step 4

Select the ‘Grill’ or ‘Bake’ mode on your multicooker. Brush the inside of the multicooker pot with the melted butter. Place the marinated chicken drumsticks inside and cook for approximately 20 minutes, basting with more melted butter halfway through. Cooking time may vary depending on the thickness of the chicken and your multicooker’s performance. Aim for a beautifully browned exterior and a moist, tender interior.

Step 4

Step 5

Once cooked, arrange the Tandoori chicken on a serving plate. Garnish with the sliced onions, lime wedges, and fresh coriander. A squeeze of fresh lime juice just before serving adds a refreshing zest.
