How to Make Delicious Beetroot Carpaccio at Home

Main Ingredients- 2 medium beetroots
Dressing Ingredients- 1/2 Tbsp coarse salt
- 3.5 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- 1 Tbsp whole grain mustard
- 1/2 Tbsp lemon juice
- 1/2 Tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 1/3 Tbsp sugar
- A pinch of black pepper

Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Begin by thoroughly washing the beetroots. Then, carefully peel them using a vegetable peeler. Wearing disposable gloves is recommended to avoid staining your hands.

Once peeled, slice the beetroots as thinly and finely as possible. Using a mandoline slicer will help you achieve uniform, delicate strands quickly. Thin slicing ensures a tender texture.
Step 3
Place the julienned beetroot in a bowl and sprinkle with 1/2 Tbsp of coarse salt. Toss gently to coat, then let it sit for 10 minutes to salt cure. This step draws out excess moisture and enhances the beetroot’s crispness.

After 10 minutes, drain the beetroot in a colander and firmly press out any excess water. Proper water removal is key to ensure the dressing flavors penetrate well and the dish isn’t diluted. Transfer the drained beetroot to a clean bowl.
