Tangy Mustard Beef and Chive Salad
A Hearty Beef Salad Packed with Chives and Onions

I’ve been enjoying a lot of salads lately for my diet, and today I’m making a delicious beef salad with plenty of chives and onions, finished with a zesty mustard dressing. Since it includes grilled beef, it’s quite filling and makes for a satisfying meal. This simple yet hearty dish is perfect for a special occasion or when you have guests over, as it’s sure to whet everyone’s appetite.
Salad Ingredients- 200g top blade steak or beef brisket
- 1 bunch chives
- 1/2 onion
- 1 Tbsp sesame seeds
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, cut the beef into bite-sized pieces. In a bowl, combine the beef with 1 Tbsp minced garlic, 2 Tbsp rice wine, and a pinch of black pepper. Mix well to marinate. You only need to marinate it briefly before cooking.

Step 2
Thinly slice the onion. Soak the sliced onion in cold water for about 10 minutes to mellow its sharp flavor. Then, drain the onions thoroughly using a sieve, ensuring all excess water is removed. This step keeps the onion crisp while reducing its pungent taste.

Step 3
Now, let’s make the delightful mustard dressing! In a bowl, combine 3 Tbsp soy sauce, 3 Tbsp lemon vinegar, 1 Tbsp prepared mustard, 2 Tbsp oligosaccharide, and 1/2 cup water. Whisk everything together until the mustard is fully dissolved and the dressing is smooth. Make sure to whisk well until no lumps of mustard remain. Wash the chives and cut them into 3-4 cm lengths.

Step 4
Heat a grill pan over medium-high heat. Add the marinated beef and grill both sides until nicely browned. Be careful not to overcook the beef, as it can become tough. Once cooked, place the beef on a rack to drain off any excess oil for a cleaner taste.

Step 5
In a large bowl, combine the grilled beef, the drained sliced onion, the cut chives, and 1 Tbsp sesame seeds. Pour about two-thirds of the prepared mustard dressing over the ingredients. Gently toss everything together. Taste the salad and gradually add more dressing as needed, according to your preference. Toss gently until all ingredients are well coated with the dressing. Your delicious beef salad is now ready to serve!
