- 1/2 medium onion
Marinade Ingredients- 5 Tbsp soy sauce
- 2 Tbsp sugar (adjust to taste)
- 2 Tbsp plum extract (for sweetness and flavor)
- 2 Tbsp cooking wine (like mirin, to remove odor and enhance flavor)
- 1 Tbsp finely chopped green onion
- 1 Tbsp minced garlic
- Sesame seeds, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
- 5 Tbsp soy sauce
- 2 Tbsp sugar (adjust to taste)
- 2 Tbsp plum extract (for sweetness and flavor)
- 2 Tbsp cooking wine (like mirin, to remove odor and enhance flavor)
- 1 Tbsp finely chopped green onion
- 1 Tbsp minced garlic
- Sesame seeds, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, gently pat the lamb ribeye with paper towels to remove any excess blood. This step helps to reduce any gamey odor. If there’s too much fat or tough sinew, carefully trim it off with a knife. Then, cut the lamb into bite-sized pieces.
Step 2
Roughly chop the green onion. Slice the carrot and onion into pieces roughly the same size as the lamb. In a large bowl, combine the prepared lamb ribeye, sliced vegetables, and all the marinade ingredients (soy sauce, sugar, plum extract, cooking wine, chopped green onion, minced garlic, sesame seeds, and pepper). Mix everything gently with your hands, ensuring the marinade evenly coats the lamb and vegetables. Massage the marinade into the meat for best results.
Step 3
Cover the marinated lamb ribeye with plastic wrap and let it rest in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour. This marinating time allows the flavors to penetrate deeply, resulting in a more tender and richer taste. Heat a pan over medium-high heat. Add the marinated lamb and stir-fry evenly, being careful not to burn it. Cook until the sauce has reduced and the lamb is nicely browned. For a final touch, sprinkle with additional sesame seeds or pepper, if desired. Your delicious lamb ribeye bulgogi is now ready to be enjoyed!
