Tender Beef Jeon (Korean Pan-Fried Beef)
How to Make Delicious Korean Beef Jeon
Learn how to make melt-in-your-mouth Beef Jeon, a savory Korean pancake featuring thinly sliced beef. This recipe is perfect for holidays, special occasions, or impressing guests.
Main Ingredients- Beef (for Jeon, thinly sliced) 200g
- Eggs 2
- Pancake Mix (Buchim Garu) 3 Tbsp
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
In a bowl, crack 2 eggs and whisk them well to prepare the egg wash. Place the pancake mix on a wide plate.
Step 2
Using paper towels, thoroughly pat the thinly sliced beef to remove any excess blood. This step is crucial for a clean flavor without any gamey taste. Lightly and evenly coat both sides of the beef with the pancake mix (or tempura powder).
Step 3
Dip the coated beef into the prepared egg wash, ensuring it’s fully covered. Gently shake off any excess egg wash so it adheres well to the surface of the beef.
Step 4
Heat a pan over medium-low heat with a generous amount of cooking oil. Carefully place the egg-coated beef into the hot pan and pan-fry until golden brown on both sides. Beef cooks very quickly, so avoid overcooking. Frying for about 1-2 minutes per side is usually sufficient. Cook swiftly to keep the juices locked inside.
