Main Ingredients- 500g fresh beef sirloin (choose a thick cut)
- 1/2 medium onion
- 1/2 zucchini or yellow squash
- 3 medium potatoes
- 10 cloves garlic (whole)
- 2 king oyster mushrooms
- Herbal salt, to taste (adjust to your preference)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, gently pat the surface of the fresh beef sirloin with paper towels to remove any excess blood. This step is crucial for a clean taste and tender texture, eliminating any unwanted gamey flavors.
Step 2
Season the drained beef sirloin generously with herbal salt on all sides. The herbal salt will enhance the beef’s natural flavor. You can also add a pinch of black pepper if you like. Let it marinate for about 10 minutes for optimal taste.
Step 3
Prepare the vegetables: slice the onion thickly, and cut the zucchini and potatoes into approximately 1cm thick rounds. Slice the king oyster mushrooms into large pieces, and leave the garlic cloves whole with their skins on. Cutting the vegetables into similar thickness to the beef ensures they cook evenly together.
Step 4
Heat a pan or grill over medium-high heat. Place the seasoned sirloin on the hot surface and grill until nicely browned. Once the beef is partially cooked, arrange the prepared onion, zucchini, potatoes, mushrooms, and garlic around the steak. Let them cook in the flavorful beef drippings. Flip the ingredients occasionally to ensure even cooking. Continue cooking until the potatoes are tender and the vegetables are sweet and slightly caramelized. This step allows the vegetables to absorb the delicious flavors from the beef.
