Main Ingredients
- 1 bowl of pre-cooked and shelled clams (approx. 200-250g)
- Scallions (green onions), white part only, thinly sliced (about 1/2 stalk)
Seasoning Ingredients
- 2.5 Tbsp Soy Sauce (adjust to taste)
- 1/2 Tbsp Minced Garlic
- 1/2 Tbsp Gochugaru (Korean chili flakes)
- 1/2 Tbsp Mirin (rice wine) or Cooking Wine
- 1 Tbsp Toasted Sesame Oil
- 2.5 Tbsp Soy Sauce (adjust to taste)
- 1/2 Tbsp Minced Garlic
- 1/2 Tbsp Gochugaru (Korean chili flakes)
- 1/2 Tbsp Mirin (rice wine) or Cooking Wine
- 1 Tbsp Toasted Sesame Oil
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare the clams. Ensure they are pre-cooked and the shells have been removed, leaving just the tender meat. If you’re starting with fresh clams, you’ll need to cook them first. (Tip: Refer to recipe @6913231 for detailed clam cooking instructions if needed.) Make sure the clam meat is clean and ready to be mixed.
Step 2
Thinly slice the white parts of the scallions. These will add a fresh, crisp texture and a mild oniony flavor to the clam salad.
Step 3
In a mixing bowl, combine the prepared clam meat and the sliced scallions. Add all the seasoning ingredients: soy sauce, minced garlic, gochugaru, mirin, and sesame oil. It’s recommended to adjust the amount of soy sauce based on the saltiness of the clams and your personal preference. You can start with a bit less and add more if needed.
Step 4
Gently toss all the ingredients together using a spoon or spatula until the clams and scallions are evenly coated with the seasoning. Be careful not to overmix or mash the clams, as this can affect their tender texture. Mix until everything is well combined, and your delicious clam salad is ready!
Step 5
Transfer the finished Ggomak Muchim to a serving dish. It’s delicious served as a side dish with rice or can be used as a topping for a flavorful clam rice bowl. Enjoy the fresh, savory taste of the season’s clams!
