Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, let’s prepare the delicious sauce for our quick prawn stir-fry. In a bowl, combine 4 Tbsp steak sauce, 2 Tbsp ketchup, 1 Tbsp oyster sauce, 1 Tbsp plum extract, 4 Tbsp red wine, and 1 Tbsp oligodang. Whisk everything together until well combined. This forms the flavorful base for our dish.
Step 2
Now, let’s prepare the star of our dish, the king prawns. If you have leftover cooked prawns, simply cut them into bite-sized pieces. If you are using raw prawns, peel and devein them, then cut them into manageable pieces suitable for stir-frying.
Step 3
Although this is a simple shrimp dish, its flavor is truly impressive! Stir-frying with aromatic vegetables adds a wonderful depth and tenderness. We’ll be using a sweet onion, fragrant green onion, and spicy Korean green chili peppers for a balanced taste.
Step 4
Heat about 1 Tbsp of cooking oil or butter in a pan over medium-high heat. Butter will add a richer flavor. Add the prepared prawns and stir-fry until they turn pink and are cooked through. If using cooked prawns, stir-fry briefly over low heat. If using raw prawns, cook quickly over high heat to keep them tender and juicy. Once the prawns are nicely colored red…
Step 5
…add the prepared vegetables to the pan. Stir-fry everything together over high heat for about 1-2 minutes, just until the vegetables are tender-crisp. This quick stir-fry will retain their freshness and vibrant colors.
Step 6
Pour the pre-made sauce over the prawns and vegetables. Toss everything gently to coat evenly. Cook for another minute until the sauce thickens slightly and glazes the ingredients. Transfer the delicious stir-fry to a serving plate.
Step 7
For garnish, I’ve thinly sliced some figs, which are slightly past their prime but still add a beautiful touch. Alternatively, you could use slices of fresh, sweet mandarins for a bright and refreshing garnish. A sprinkle of parsley flakes would also be a lovely finishing touch.
