Main Ingredients- 1kg Ground Pork
- 2 Onions
- 600g Gochujang (Korean chili paste)
- 100g Sugar
- 100g Black Pepper
- 100ml Mirin (rice wine)
- 100ml Cooking Oil
- 100g Dasida (or similar umami seasoning)
- 200ml Sesame Oil
- 100g Sesame Seeds
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, heat 100ml of cooking oil in a wide pan over medium heat. Once the oil is shimmering, add the 1kg of ground pork. Season it with 100g of black pepper and 100g of salt. Break up any clumps of meat and stir-fry until the pork is evenly cooked and no longer pink. Ensuring the meat is thoroughly cooked is key.
Step 2
Once the ground pork is fully cooked through, add the 600g of gochujang, 100g of sugar, 100ml of mirin, and 100g of Dasida to the pan. Stir everything together well with the pork. Continue to stir and cook over low heat for about 5-7 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken and the flavors to meld deeply with the meat. Keep stirring to prevent it from sticking to the bottom of the pan.
Step 3
Finely dice the 2 onions. Add the diced onions to the mixture in the pan and sauté until they become translucent and tender. Finally, drizzle in 200ml of sesame oil and sprinkle in 100g of sesame seeds. Stir everything together to combine. The fragrant aroma of sesame oil and the texture of the sesame seeds will complete this delicious sauce.
