Tiger Prawn Cheese Butter Grill
Perfect for Camping or Special Occasions! Tiger Prawn Cheese Butter Grill Recipe
I made a magnificent ‘Prawn Cheese Butter Grill’ using large and plump tiger prawns. The buttery richness and cheesy savoriness create a delightful flavor that whets your appetite. You can make this deliciously with regular prawns too, so enjoy a special dish at home that rivals any restaurant!
Main Ingredients- 6 Tiger Prawns (large regular prawns also work)
- 1 pack Pizza Cheese (approx. 150-200g)
- 2-3 Tbsp Butter
- Pinch of Salt
- Pinch of Pepper
- Pinch of Chopped Parsley (for garnish)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Let’s start by preparing the prawns. Tiger prawns have thicker and tougher shells than regular prawns, making them much easier to handle with scissors. It can be difficult to prepare them with just a knife, so keep this in mind.
Step 2
We’ll make a cut along the shell on the prawn’s back using scissors. First, snip off a small part of the shell near the tail end.
Step 3
Insert your scissors into the cut you just made and cut along the backbone all the way to the head. If you’re using regular prawns, you can skip this step and proceed directly to making cuts.
Step 4
After neatly opening the thick shell with scissors, use a knife to make 2-3 shallow cuts along the prawn’s back. This helps the prawn open up beautifully as it cooks and allows the seasoning to penetrate better.
Step 5
Carefully remove the visible vein along the prawn’s back using a chopstick or skewer. Gently spread open the cleaned prawn along the cuts. Repeat this meticulous preparation for the remaining tiger prawns.
Step 6
Arrange the prepared prawns on an oven tray, leaving some space between them. Cut the butter into small pieces and place each piece on top of a prawn. The butter will melt and infuse the prawns with flavor. Sprinkle a pinch of salt and pepper over them for seasoning.
Step 7
Now it’s time to add the delicious cheese! Generously top each prawn with pizza cheese. Place the tray in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) and bake for about 15 minutes. The cheese will melt and become golden brown, creating a fantastic harmony with the prawns.
Step 8
The prawns look appetizing straight out of the oven, but for an even richer flavor and presentation, I used a culinary torch to lightly sear the surface of the cheese. This enhances the cheese’s aroma and creates a more appealing visual.
Step 9
Finally, sprinkle some fresh chopped parsley for a beautiful garnish, and your magnificent Tiger Prawn Cheese Butter Grill is complete! This dish is so delicious and visually stunning, it feels almost too good to be just for myself. I highly recommend you try making it!
