Tomato Sauce Pork Rice Bowl
Simple Yet Delicious! Tomato Sauce Pork Rice Bowl Recipe
Stir-fry thinly sliced pork belly with tomato spaghetti sauce to create a delightful rice bowl. It offers a flavor profile quite different from traditional Jeyuk Bokkeum (spicy stir-fried pork), with the tangy tomato sauce and tender pork belly creating a surprisingly harmonious blend. When mixed with rice, it’s so good you’ll finish your bowl in no time! This recipe is easy to make and delivers a uniquely satisfying taste.
Ingredients- 1 Tbsp butter
- 1/2 Tbsp minced garlic
- 1/2 medium onion, chopped
- 1 green onion
- 200g thinly sliced pork belly (samgyeopsal)
- 1/2 tsp herb salt
- 1 cup tomato spaghetti sauce
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, finely chop half of a medium onion. Separate the white and green parts of the green onion, then thinly slice them. The white parts will be used for aroma, and the green parts will add fresh flavor at the end. Heat a pan over medium heat and melt 1 tablespoon of butter. Add the minced garlic, chopped onion, and the sliced white parts of the green onion. Sauté until a sweet aroma is released, infusing the ingredients with fragrant flavor.
Step 2
Add the 200g of thinly sliced pork belly to the fragrant sautéed vegetables and break it apart. Since thinly sliced pork belly cooks quickly, spread it evenly in the pan to ensure it cooks uniformly.
Step 3
Once the pork belly starts to cook, sprinkle 1/2 teaspoon of herb salt evenly over the entire mixture to season. The herb salt will further enhance the flavor of the pork. Continue to stir-fry until the pork is fully cooked.
Step 4
When the pork belly is golden brown and completely cooked, pour in 1 cup (about 200ml) of delicious tomato spaghetti sauce. Stir everything together to combine the sauce with the ingredients and cook for another 1-2 minutes. The sauce will thicken slightly, allowing the flavors to meld beautifully with the ingredients.
Step 5
Finally, add the sliced green parts of the green onion and mix gently. The fresh aroma of the green onion acts as a final touch, adding a refreshing note to the dish. Now, generously spoon this mixture over warm rice and enjoy mixing it all together!
